512 GB is where big-data workloads start being fully in-memory feasible. Large graph databases, multi-TB ClickHouse hot data, ML training with big batch sizes, or dense virtualization hosts with 100+ VMs — this is your tier.

Two platform families: (a) dual EPYC Rome/Milan — 128 physical cores, DDR4-3200 across 16 memory channels (~410 GB/s aggregate bandwidth), best price-per-core; (b) dual Xeon Platinum 8168 — 48 physical cores, DDR4-2666, AVX-512, best single-thread performance.

Typical customers on 512 GB tier: fintech backtesting stacks, ML training clusters for mid-size models, dense multi-tenant VPS/KVM hosting (50-100 VMs per box), private cloud infrastructure, ClickHouse analytics on 5+ TB hot data.

DDR5 gives ~40% more bandwidth (4800 MT/s vs 3200) and better power efficiency. Worth it for bandwidth-bound workloads (in-memory analytics). Not worth it if you're CPU-bound.

Can I run a full 500 GB database in RAM?
