About Dual Xeon Gold 6138

Our 2× Xeon Gold 6138 tier is designed for workloads that saturate both CPU and network. 40 physical cores, DDR4-2666 ECC memory, and — most importantly — 24 PCIe lanes per socket to feed a 100 GbE NIC without starving storage.

The 100 Gbit/s option on this SKU is real, not "burst" — QSFP28 SR4 (100m OM4) or LR4 (10km single-mode) transceivers, unmetered, DDoS-protected at line rate. LACP bonding available for 2×100G aggregate.

This is our default "big single box" for national-scale IPTV panels (100k+ lines), Tier-1 CDN origins, live-event streaming (Champions League, election night), or scrubbing fabrics. AVX-512 gives significant throughput on video codec / crypto / ML inference workloads.

Provisioning 24 hours across all four PoPs. Stock always available in Amsterdam and Kyiv. QSFP28 optics included in the plan price — no hidden line-item.

Frequently asked questions

Do I actually get 100 Gbit sustained?

Yes. Real-world sustained ~92 Gbit/s per port (line rate minus TCP overhead). We publish live-traffic graphs on request. Customers routinely run 70-95% port utilisation 24/7.

What NIC comes with the 100G option?

Mellanox ConnectX-5 or Intel E810 dual-port 100 GbE. QSFP28 SR4 or LR4 transceivers included.

Can I get 400G on this platform?

Not directly — Gold 6138 doesn't have enough PCIe 3.0 lanes for a 400G NIC. For 400G, we build on newer Ice Lake / EPYC platforms. See /net400g.
