About Intel Xeon Gold 6138

The Intel® Xeon® Gold 6138 is Skylake-SP class with AVX-512 support and mesh interconnect — a big step up from Haswell in per-clock throughput and memory bandwidth. Well-suited for CDN origins, large IPTV panels, container clusters and heavy analytics.

Our single-Gold 6138 tier is 1×20c / 40t at 64 GB DDR4 ECC with 2× 1 TB NVMe and up to 20 Gbit/s unmetered. The dual-Gold tier scales to 40c / 80t, 128 GB DDR4 ECC and — critically — up to 100 Gbit/s unmetered on QSFP28 optics. This is our default "100G-ready" SKU.

AVX-512 support gives ~2× throughput on vectorized workloads: ML inference, cryptography, video transcoding, scientific compute. Combined with NVMe Gen3 storage, single Gold 6138 comfortably serves a 30-50k line IPTV panel with real-time transcode.

Provisioning 24 hours across NL/UA, 72 hours PL/US. Full IPMI 2.0, iDRAC for Dell configs, jumbo frames (9000 MTU) end-to-end across our backbone.

Frequently asked questions

Is Xeon Gold 6138 good for AVX-512 workloads?

Yes — it has 2× AVX-512 units per core. Suitable for ML inference (INT8 optimized), video codec acceleration, cryptographic workloads, HPC.

What DDR4 speed does it support?

DDR4-2666 ECC RDIMM up to 128 GB per socket in our default config. 256 GB and 512 GB configs available on custom builds.

Can I get 100 Gbit/s on the single-socket Gold?

No — 100G is only on the dual-Gold config (needs 2 sockets for the PCIe lanes required by 100G NIC + storage). Single-Gold caps at 20 Gbit.
