Solana node hosting servers

Solana has serious hardware requirements — high CPU, tons of RAM, fast NVMe. We build to the SolanaLabs spec (or better) starting at $550/mo.

About Solana node hosting

Solana is the most hardware-demanding L1 chain to run — 400ms block times mean the node has to keep up with a firehose of tx data. Undersize the box and you fall behind, get slashed (validator) or serve stale data (RPC). We build to spec.

Suggested configs: (a) Validator — 32 cores (AMD EPYC 7742 or Xeon Gold 6338), 256 GB DDR4 ECC, 2 TB NVMe (accounts) + 2 TB NVMe (ledger), 1 Gbit unmetered, from $550/mo; (b) RPC node — 32 cores, 512 GB RAM (RPC needs much more), 4 TB NVMe, from $890/mo; (c) Warehouse node — 64 cores, 1 TB RAM, 15 TB+ NVMe for full history.

Storage sizing: accounts db ~500 GB, ledger ~1.5 TB (pruned), warehouse ~15 TB+ and growing. NVMe Gen4 required for RPC — Gen3 latency is too high for high-QPS RPC. IPv4 + IPv6, full inbound on validator ports.

Custom configs: we spec each Solana build against the official SolanaLabs hardware requirements + typical operator recommendations from Solana Discord. Send us your workload (validator only? RPC too? warehouse?) and we'll size the box.

Frequently asked questions

What's the biggest bottleneck on Solana?

RAM for RPC (each request materializes state), NVMe write throughput for validator (accountsdb writes), and network — 1 Gbit sustained is needed for RPC nodes. CPU is important but often not the bottleneck.

Do you offer Firedancer support?

Firedancer is Solana's alternative validator client (Jump Trading). Same hardware requirements broadly. We support both agave/solana-labs and Firedancer builds — Firedancer requires slightly less RAM.

What's a warehouse node?

A node that retains full historical ledger + transaction data (typically 15+ TB, growing). Used by explorers, analytics providers, DeFi backends needing historical queries.
