Nimble Streamer hosting on unmetered bare-metal.

The lightweight streaming server that sips CPU and RAM — RTMP, SRT and HLS ingest and delivery on an unmetered 10 Gbit/s port. Restream, transcode and fan out to the edge without a Wowza-sized bill. Managed free with WMSPanel.

Why Nimble on Hostfory makes sense.

Light software, huge bandwidth

Nimble Streamer barely touches CPU or RAM, so the value is all in the pipe. An unmetered 10 Gbit/s port lets one cheap box fan out thousands of HLS viewers for a flat monthly price.

SRT for lossy uplinks

Pull a feed over SRT from a flaky remote link, republish clean HLS/RTMP. Direct peering keeps latency low and the packets intact.

Restream without egress fees

Republishing a channel to multiple destinations multiplies your outbound. On a metered host that's a per-GB nightmare; here it's flat, unmetered, predictable.

Add a GPU when you transcode

Nimble does light transcoding on CPU; for a full ABR ladder attach a GPU node with NVENC and keep the Nimble box lean as a packager and edge.

Nimble Streamer pre-installed

Nimble deployed and tuned — RTMP/SRT/RTSP ingest, HLS/DASH output, DVR — with the free WMSPanel cloud management connected.

Unmetered 10G+ port

Ingest, restream and deliver at line rate for a flat monthly price — no per-GB egress, no cap.

SRT ingest tuned

SRT listener configured for contribution over lossy internet uplinks, with sensible latency and recovery defaults.

GPU transcode option

Add an RTX PRO 4500/6000 for NVENC transcoding when you need a full ABR ladder — Nimble stays lean as packager and edge.

Storage Vault for DVR/VOD

Attach a Storage Vault to record channels and serve VOD without filling the app node's NVMe.

DDoS-protected

1.6 Tbit/s of always-on scrubbing in front of every ingest and edge.

Nimble Streamer hosting — lightweight streaming on unmetered bandwidth

Nimble Streamer is a lean, high-performance media server: it ingests RTMP, SRT and RTSP, republishes and packages to HLS and DASH, does DVR and light transcoding, and is managed free through the WMSPanel cloud. Its whole appeal is efficiency — it runs happily on a small box — which means the thing that actually matters for a Nimble deployment is the network it sits on.

Hostfory pairs that lean software with a fat, unmetered pipe. A single cheap box on an unmetered 10 Gbit/s port can fan out thousands of HLS viewers or restream a channel to several destinations for a flat monthly price, with none of the per-gigabyte egress a hyperscaler charges. SRT ingest is tuned for contribution over lossy uplinks, and when you need a full adaptive-bitrate ladder you add a GPU node with NVENC and keep the Nimble server lean as a packager and edge.

It's a single-tenant server in the location you choose — Amsterdam, Warsaw, Kyiv or Miami — provisioned in a couple of hours with Nimble installed, tuned and connected to WMSPanel. Pair it with a Storage Vault for DVR and VOD, and put more edge nodes in front as your audience grows.

Nimble Streamer questions, answered.

Why Nimble instead of Wowza?
Nimble is far lighter on CPU and RAM and free to run (paid features and management are optional via WMSPanel), so it's ideal for restreaming and packaging on a small box. Wowza is the heavier enterprise transcoder. Both run great here — pick Nimble when efficiency and cost matter.
Is the bandwidth unmetered?
Yes — the 10 / 25 / 40 Gbit/s port runs at rated speed for a flat monthly price, with no per-GB egress or cap. That's what makes cheap restreaming viable at scale.
Can I ingest over SRT?
Yes. The SRT listener is set up out of the box with sensible latency and recovery settings, so you can pull a feed over a lossy internet uplink and republish clean HLS or RTMP.
Can I transcode to a full ABR ladder?
Nimble does light transcoding on CPU; for a full 1080p/720p/480p/360p ladder add a GPU tier with NVENC and let Nimble handle packaging and edge delivery.
How many viewers can one server serve?
Delivery is bandwidth-bound: at ~5 Mbps per 1080p viewer a 10G port serves roughly 2,000 concurrent, 25G around 5,000, and you add edge nodes beyond that.
Can I record and serve VOD?
Yes — enable DVR and attach a Storage Vault so recordings and VOD scale into hundreds of terabytes while the Nimble box stays lean.
How fast is provisioning?
A couple of hours for in-stock configs, with Nimble installed, tuned and connected to WMSPanel. Migration from another host is on us for annual plans.
