What is an unmetered dedicated server?

An unmetered dedicated server is a bare-metal machine whose network port has no traffic accounting at all: you pay a flat monthly price for the port speed (say, 10 Gbit/s) and can push as many terabytes as that port physically carries. Nothing is measured, so nothing can run out — unlike “unlimited” plans that still hide a fair-use clause.

Unmetered vs unlimited bandwidth — what is the difference?

“Unlimited” is a marketing word: most unlimited plans throttle or suspend you under a fair-use policy once you push serious traffic. Unmetered means the counter simply does not exist — our switches do not bill per byte. Your only ceiling is the physical port speed you ordered, and you are welcome to hold it at 100% utilisation 24/7.

Do you use 95th-percentile billing?

No, never. 95th-percentile billing measures your traffic in 5-minute samples and charges you for near-peak usage — great for carriers, terrible for streaming projects with prime-time spikes. Every Hostfory dedicated server is flat-price: the invoice is identical whether the port idles or runs at line rate all month.

Can I saturate the port 24/7? Will you throttle me?

Yes you can, and no we will not. Our network is built for sustained line-rate traffic: 6 Tier-1 transit carriers, 5 IXPs and an overprovisioned backbone on our own AS209155. Streaming, IPTV, CDN origin, backups — sustained full-port utilisation is an expected workload here, not an abuse case.
